Add your drinking water separately

The water plan matters, too.

18 litres to store
2 people × 3 days × 3 litres of drinking water

Bottled water is not included. The empty carriers in the proposed kit help with collection and handling; they do not replace your stored drinking water.

The UK government's Be Ready checklist uses 3 litres per person per day for drinking. Allow extra for cooking, washing and individual needs.

Make it yours

Leave room for
the personal things.

Every household is different. Keep these alongside your kit, according to the people and pets who depend on you.

  • Bottled drinking water and any extra water your household needs
  • Regular medicines and personal medical or accessibility supplies
  • Baby supplies, pet food and pet water where needed
  • Personal diet requirements, toiletries and menstrual products
  • Warm clothing, spare glasses and device-specific charging cables
  • Document copies, contact numbers, spare keys and a little cash
